Tot Zeins, Antwerp!

Wednesday night was well spent, relaxing in the hotel room and repacking so everything fit into one bag for the plane ride home. Then we went to a souvenir shop so the guys could get their stuff before grabbing dinner at McDonald’s because it was cheap. We decided to create our own pub crawl so we could visit some of the famous pubs we were seeing the names of on all the souvenirs. It ended up being a great idea, we went to 3 different pubs along Temple Bar Road. One of which we had the fortune of seeing Kevin Connolly at the bar less than 5 feet from us. (Actor in Entourage, He’s Just Not That Into You, and Castle). We felt cool because we’d been hoping to see a celebrity at some point during this trip and we finally succeeded! We also decided to make it a late night since we had to be at breakfast at 4:15 this morning. While we were hanging out in my room I got to skype with some friends, first time ever! It made my night to see their smiling faces again and chat it up like I was home again. The best part of going home is seeing them so I’m okay with the trip being done in a week.

This morning we were up and moving very early to the airport. Our plane was delayed a bit so we all got our naps in in the waiting area. After boarding the plane I had no trouble falling asleep although staying asleep was a bit more challenging because there isn’t a lot of space to move around in. We missed our bus back to Antwerp so we’re currently on a train instead, hopefully going to be home soon so we can get our laundry done and everything packed before our closing dinner at a Japanese restaurant in Antwerp. Dean Ron Johnson from the College of Business will be joining us for dinner tonight as well as the entire next week of traveling so we’ll have to be on our best behavior- wish us luck! Tomorrow we check out of the residence and then board the bus to start our journey. While we’re out I’m not sure how often we’ll have wi-fi to access the blog, but in the mean time you can read the Center For Global Initiatives Blog if you’re interested in general facts about studying abroad or just bored without my amazing stories (haha).
