Gent, the city of Glutes!

Dak! It is Friday night and most of the crew is nestled in bed already. But guess who is still not getting tired at the right times despite full days of walking and learning?! This lady. Today began with another class period with Dr. Roosens, again very interesting but almost fell asleep this time. Last night I tried to go to bed early so I could get caught up on sleep but it did not work, I just woke up more tired than the day before. Anyway, we got the lovely surprise of having our afternoon class cancelled so we would have more time to study for our test on Tuesday.. well as a typical college student we instead decided a spontaneous trip to Gent would be a better idea! It is a town about an hour from Antwerp so we got to take the train by ourselves, 8 of us went, and we had a lot of fun! Nothing too amazing to see in the town and we missed the tours of the castle because it closed. But we still had fun and get to say that we did it for 10 Euros! We came home a little early and had a chill night since we've been so busy and we've got another full day tomorrow. We're taking the Train to Brugges to visit some EU sites and then we have a large group dinner in the European style where we spend 3+ hours at the table eating a 3-course meal!! Not sure how I will eat it all but it should be a great experience!

This really is a beautiful country and it is such a blessing to be able to walk down the street and see all these huge, old buildings just hanging out. I wish we had more scenery like this in the states! But we do have some things right so it's not all bad. More tomorrow I suppose!

Love,
Jenacious
