BANANA!

Today I had "chocolate bread" for breakfast. It was the most delicious little thing! Basically like a chocolate turnover except more home-made than the ones at Arby's. We also had our first class period with a Belgian professor and he taught us about different trade agreements and how the European Union came to be. He was really very good and we took lots of notes. Last night we had our building manager come up to us and inform us that our shower was leaking into the room below us so we were no longer allowed to use it until someone looked at it today. Then this morning on the way to breakfast he stopped us to say the fix couldn't be done quickly so we were moving to a different room. Over our lunch break we had the pleasure of moving from our awesome 5th floor room (we had Nick and Mike up there across the hall and we were Team Penthouse and everyone came to hang out with us because we had Wi-Fi) to the same room on 2nd floor. So we still have decent wireless but no penthouse. Or anyone from our group on our floor so it's a little more lonely. But the room does seem a bit bigger somehow so we will survive. The moving took up a big chunk of our lunch time so we ended up leaving late for our bus meeting which is bad news. And then one of the girls' purses was locked in her room and her roommates were already on campus. So I went with her to meet the other girls and then run all the way back to her room and all the way back to campus (not that far but we weren't dressed or ready for it so it felt like the worst thing in the world). The funny thing about it is that after we ran all the way back to be less late, we were informed that the bus was late. So we didn't leave for another 10 minutes anyway and we easily could've walked back and been there on time. Oh well, it was a fun story! When we finally boarded the bus it was for our tour of the Port of Antwerp. There is a lot going on there and it was exciting to learn it all from someone who used to work there. It was a long afternoon for all of us though since we haven't been getting as much sleep as we would like to be.The best part of the tour was when we went to the port that deals with fruit deliveries, and they were doing bananas today so we got to say BANANA for 2 hours (think of it the way the Minions say it in Despicable Me). We decided to try McDonald's for dinner and that will not happen again since it was the most expensive meal I've had since arriving in Belgium. After dinner I just hung out and relaxed while everyone got ready to go to Billiards somewhere. Since I've been sleeping unreasonably less than everyone else I decided to call it an early night and try to come out ahead of the crowd for tomorrow. We also have 6 hours of classes to sit through which is more difficult than any of you realize. So a night in can't hurt too much. I also found time to get my finances in check and try to focus on how much I'm spending each day and I'm doing good so far I think! We'll see once we start traveling everyday though! Time to get ready for bed, good night!

Love,
Jenacious
